Hutchison ports ECT Rotterdam
Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam (ECT) is one of the leading and most advanced container terminal operators in Europe. MAS Automation is supporting ECT with its Versiondog expertise. Our responsibility is to fully automate their software version management. This includes easily tracking of changes made inside the software, reason for the changes and managing the backups to compare older and new versions of the software and troubleshoot issues. Version Management is very important in today’s industrial environment, the change that is made to the software at any point in time should be recorded with a time stamp and with the ID of the personnel responsible for the change. Versiondog is capable of achieving these requirements. These change s become more important in a company like ECT where the continuous operation has to be taken care of otherwise it may cause a halt and disturbances. Our expertise with Versiondog will help ECT to maintain their software changes better thereby giving them control on their software.
DSM - PCS7
DSM is a leading provider of enzymatic solutions, with more than 100 years of experience in the production, formulation and application of enzymes. MAS Automation is responsible for multiple projects inside DSM. This includes Automation Software modifications based on PCS7 environment and upgradation. PCS7 software is used to optimize the processes in the Gistfabriek, Fabriek C, from dosing of raw materials to cleaning and flushing of the supply lines the software has been modified to optimize the process and increase the production. The main goal of optimization is to use the dead time for production and thereby increasing the capacity of the factory.
DSM - POWERAPPS
MAS Automation is also providing IT support to DSM. It is responsible for developing power apps for it. The goal of this project is to automate the information flow that is currently used to store data in three separate files, known as the ‘DBO, FTR and Batch release performance files’. These files are used by several departments in DSM, each for their own purpose. The data is manually gathered from several locations using different tools and programs. The efficiency and fault-tolerance of this process could be highly increased by automating the information flow and this, in turn, would have a big impact on the productivity of the DSM departments that rely on this data.
Royal IHC
Royal IHC is a reliable supplier of innovative and efficient equipment, vessels and services for the offshore, dredging and wet mining markets. MAS Automation is developing a process simulation environment for IHC based on Winmod software environment. This helps IHC to commission their automation software on the simulated process. It reduces commissioning time and improves efficiency. The actual commissioning at the site requires several hours from engineers to technicians, these can reduce if the functioning of the various part of a particular system has already been done using a simulated environment. A test environment is created within Winmod and is linked via a Simulation unit to the controllers (PLCs). The IO check is then performed, the simulation box together with winmod software makes the PLC believe as if it is actually connected to the hardware. The functioning of the various parts of the heavy machinery like tensioners and winch are then performed and once successful the onsite commissioning work is then not as much as would have been in absence of simulated testing, this in turns requires lesser hours from commissioning and onsite. engineers.
Tata Steel - AUVESY
Tata Steel is one of the world's most geographically diversified steel producers, with manufacturing plants in 26 countries and commercial operations in more than 35 countries. In Europe, it is the second largest steel maker. Its production facilities not only employ cutting-edge technology in all areas, but extremely close attention is paid to life-cycle costs. There is virtually no other way to manufacture steel competitively in Europe. Also indispensable is a maintenance department that is able to react quickly when necessary, and is as technologically up-to-the-minute as the production plants. The versiondog change management and version control software has played a key role at Tata Steel for some time now. It was first used by the company in 2011 at its Ijmuiden plant in the Netherlands. At the time, this kind of software was not completely new to the company. Since 2005, they had been using a version control product called VersionWorks that was then being distributed by the Dutch version control specialist, Agilitec BV. After support for VersionWorks was discontinued in 2010, Agilitec and AUVESY decided to enter into cooperation. Agilitec has been the versiondog distributor for the Benelux countries ever since. ...read more
AUVESY's Versiondog helps maintenance department Tata Steel reduce downtime
Last year, Tata Steel Europe produced 10 million tons of steel and generated a turnover of €7.9 billion. Nearly all production processes at Ijmuiden are continual and need to be kept running 24/7, so avoiding downtime is a top priority. That's a big part of the reason why versiondog is in use across the board there, on all production lines. But because Tata Steel business units have a high degree of autonomy, the way individual units use versiondog varies considerably. ...read more

Pilot becoming energy-neutral and gas-free - Mas Automation
At the Westhavenweg 109 we are trying to build a (pilot) set-up where we can meet the market. demonstrate that we can be collectively energy-neutral and gas-free. Both for living & working. Hereby by means of solar panels, energy storage and good insulation, we want to manage energy optimally, and be able to divide / settle among themselves. With this arrangement we want to take the energy market to a higher level. level by allowing collectives to function as stand-alone / hybrid units that are partly are independent of the grid, whereby the collective may also be able to supply the grid.
We want to do this by developing our own software layer that will function as arbitration between the units within a collective in the future. Large consumers can purchase from the smaller consumers, both via the PVs and via stored energy in the batteries and/or cars. The software layer /operating system must be able to function independently of any brand. Supporting techniques that are (possibly) applied is data logging / analysis to predict behaviour within the collective together with a blockchain managed database for financial administration, transparency and automatic exchange of energy.
